A cool place to relax! Besides a nice collections of books and TV, the Day Room has a magnificent 1850 rosewood piano ornated with mother of pearl keys and inlay. All 12 windows and 2 doors still have their original wavy glass panes giving an excellent view of the gardens. The rear gallery has been converted to a lounge where smokers can enjoy their cups of coffee. The gallery was closed in with glass and has central AC/Heat overlooking the fountain and patio area.
Also in the Day Room are 3 Remington bronzes. They are said to be first castings, each weighing nearly 80 lbs. each.
